Our story started in a kitchen
As a chef with deep roots in TCM, our founder May Hu loved creating food—but somewhere along the way, she'd stopped enjoying eating it.
Her gut had turned food into a source of anxiety, accompanied by a constant mental checklist of "will this hurt me later?" She looked for solutions, but the aggressive "health" trends of harsh, quick fixes only left her feeling worse.
So she returned to what she knew best: the wisdom of nature and the art of gentle nourishment.
In her Shanghai restaurant, May hosted "seasonal tables"—intimate meals where every dish was intentionally crafted to be gentle and nourishing. Guests rediscovered a sense of digestive comfort they hadn't felt in years.
The feedback was always the same: "I need this in my life, every single day."
That request became our mission:
